Heathcote Reserve in Applecross is known for its fantastic pirate-themed playground that features a variety of play equipment, such as hidden stairs, slides, bridges, tunnels, musical chimes, and a captain's lookout. The playground overlooks the beautiful Swan River, making it the perfect place for a picnic or a day out with the family. The reserve offers benches, tables, BBQ facilities, and toilets for visitors' convenience. Parking is available, but it can get busy during peak times. In addition to the playground, the reserve has plenty of grassy areas for picnics and sports activities, as well as walking paths for leisurely strolls. Heathcote Reserve is an excellent destination for families and friends looking for a fun, outdoor experience with picturesque views of Perth and the Swan River.

You should first check with Melville council about the rules and restrictions.

Generally, it is permissible to utilize your own gas BBQ, provided it remains under continuous supervision. However, the usage of Charcoal BBQ's is typically restricted, with the exception of parks equipped with designated charcoal disposal bins.
